- IIT-JEE is a single-stage examination held across many centres throughout the country.
- The exam consists of two papers, each of three hours duration. Both these papers are of objective type, which are answered on a specially designed machine-gradable sheet (ORS – Optical Response Sheet).
- Each of the two question papers consist of three separate sections on Chemistry, Mathematics and Physics.
- There is negative marking for wrong answers.
- However, candidates selected to join B.Arch. and B.Des courses are required to qualify an Aptitude Test conducted by each institute at the time of counseling.
