Q1. What is the eligibility criteria for the exam?
Ans. The eligibility criteria for the exam is:
- Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or Examinations recognized as equivalent thereto, with 50% marks in Mathematics separately, and 50 % marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry/Computer Science/Bio-technology/Biology put together are eligible for admission.
- Candidates who have Diploma in Engineering awarded by the Board of Technical Examinations, or an examination recognised equivalent thereto, by the State Board of Technical Education after undergoing an institutional course of at least 3 years, securing a minimum of 50% marks in the final Diploma Examination are eligible for admission to the special reservation quota (DE).
- Candidates who have passed Higher Secondary Examination, Kerala, or examinations recognised as equivalent thereto, with 50 % marks in Mathematics/Biology separately, and 50 % marks in Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology put together are eligible for admission to the seats reserved for Dairy Farm Instructors of Dairy Development Department for B.Tech. (D.Sc. & Tech). However, the candidates admitted to the course have to take a make up course in Basic Mathematics (2+0) credits or Applied Biology (1+1) credit as the case may be.
Q2. What is the minimum and maximum age for the candidate to give the test?
Ans. The applicants should have completed 17 years of age as on the 31st December 2011. No relaxation in the minimum age will be allowed. There is no upper age limit.
Q3. What is the reservation of seats?
Ans. The reservation of seats is as follows:
- For Kerala students 100% seats in Government / Aided colleges
- For other states students on the basis of Mgnt Quota

Ans. The last date for sale of Application Forms is 14th February 2011.

Ans. The entrance exam is going to be held on 18th and 19th April.

Ans. The results will be declared on or before 25.06.2011

Q9. Is there any negative marking in the exam?
Ans. Yes, there is negative marking in the exam. There is a negative marking of ¼ marks.
Q10. What is the cost of application form?
Ans.
- ST candidates (including ST inter-caste) whose annual family income is below Rs.40,000/- can have application form free of cost from the ST Development Department
- Rs.350/- for SC/ST candidates (including SC/ST inter-caste)
- Rs.700/- for all others.
- Rs.8500/- extra for those opting DUBAI as centre of exam
Q11. Where should the filled in application form reach?
Ans. The filled in application form should reach "The commissioner for entrance examinations, housing board buildings, Santhi Nagar, Thiruvananthapuram-695 001"
Q. 12 What are the certificates that must be submitted to prove nativity?
Ans. Candidates can submit any one of the following documents/certificates for satisfying their nativity requirements.
- Certificate 13.1(a). Certificate of Birth/Residence. This certificate has to be obtained in the application itself.
- Certificate 13.1(b). Certificate showing school studies in Kerala from standards 8 to 12. This certificate has to be obtained in the application itself.
- Certificate 13.1(c)(i). True copy of relevant page of SSLC of the candidate showing his/her place of birth in Kerala. Self attested copy of this certificate has to be attached separately.
- Certificate 13.1(c)(ii). True copy of relevant page of SSLC of the candidate’s Father/Mother showing his/her place of birth in Kerala with corroborative evidence showing relationship between candidate and the parent. Self attested copies of these certificates have to be attached separately.
- Certificate 13.1(c)(iii). True copy of the relevant page of the passport of the candidate, issued by Govt. of India, showing place of birth in Kerala or of either of the parents of the candidate showing place of birth in Kerala with corroborative certificate to establish the relationship between the candidate and the parent. Self attested copies of these certificates have to be attached separately.
- Certificate 13.1(c)(iv). A certificate of birth from the authority certificate of candidate or his/her, father/mother showing the place of birth in Kerala with corroborative evidence showing the relationship between the candidate and the person (father or mother) whose certificate has been produced. Self attested copies of these certificates have to be attached separately.
