4 - UG Direct Admissions for Srtudents of Abroad (DASA - 2011)  (Stipulated no. of seats 20)

• Applicants should have studied 11th and 12th or equivalent abroad(or)(1b) Must be a foreign passport holder.
• (I) a minimum of 2000 SAT Subject Score (Physics+Chemistry+Mathematics
  II) [earlier known as SAT-II]
  (or)
  (II) SAT score in maths /aptitude of at least 90 percentile, and SAT score in reading /writing of at least 85 Percentile.
• It is recommended that they take AP Calculus course, AP Physics or AP Chemistry course.
• Applicants should have completed 12th (or) equivalent in 2010 or 2011
• SAT score should be of 2010 or 2011.

UG Direct Admissions for Students of Abroad (DASA 2011)

Application Process :

• Application Form will be available in http://www.iiit.ac.in/abroad/ from 21 Feb 2011
• Filled in Application form is to be submitted online only
• Last date for receipt of online filled in application is 31 May 2011
• Announcement of results will be on 17 June 2011

Application Fee :

• $ 100 ( Hundred dollars ) to be submitted through Credit Card only while submitting the online application.

Selection Process :

Applicants should have studied 11th and 12th or equivalent outside India, (or) Must be a foreign passport holder. Further, a minimum of 2000 SAT Subject Score (Physics+Chemistry+Mathematics II) [earlier known as SAT-II] (or) SAT score in maths /aptitude of at least 90 percentile, and SAT score in reading /writing of at least 85 Percentile. It is recommended that they take AP Calculus course, AP Physics or AP Chemistry course. The candidates will be selected based on SAT scores, and an interview as decided by the admissions committee

Tution Fee :

• US $ 10,000 per annum for the Academic year 2011 - 12. Hostel and Mess fee extra.

Acceptance of Seat Allotment :

• Last date for acceptance of seat allotment is 1 July 2011 (by paying initial fee of USD 5000 (five thousand dollars))

Cancellation of Accepted Seat Alloted :

• If the seat is cancelled on or before 28 July 2011, US $ 2500 will refunded.
• No refund is made if the seat is cancelled on (or) after 29 July 2011

UG Admissions through NTSE, Olympiad, KVPY (Stipulated no. of seats 20)

• Students who have qualified for NTSE, KVPY and are selected for training to represent India in International Olympiads have to go through a selection process. Students have to apply through the institute portal.

Eligibility Criteria

• Five Year Dual-Degree Program of B.Tech in Computer Science and MS by Research in Computational Natural Sciences.

i.  The student must have been selected for the Indian national team or have undergone a training camp or an orientation camp at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education for any of the Olympiads mentioned below, or should be an NTSE or KVPY scholar.

a. International Physics Olympiad
b. International Chemistry Olympiad
c. International Biology Olympiad
d. International Astronomy Olympiad
e. International Olympiad on Astronomy and Astrophysics
f.  International Earth Science Olympiad

ii. The student must complete Class XII / Intermediate or its equivalent in the year 2010 or 2011.

• Five Year Dual-Degree Program of B.Tech in Computer Science and Engineering and MS by Research in Computer Science.

i. The student must have been selected for the Indian national team or have undergone a training camp or an orientation camp at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education for any of the Olympiads mentioned below, or should be an NTSE or KVPY scholar.

• International Olympiad in Informatics
• International Mathematical Olympiad

ii. The student must complete Class XII / Intermediate or its equivalent in the year 2010 or 2011.

• Five Year Dual-Degree Program of B.Tech in Electronics and Communication Engineering and MS by Research in Electronics and Communication.

i.The student must have been selected for the Indian national team or have undergone a training camp or an orientation camp at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education for any of the Olympiads mentioned below, or should be an NTSE or KVPY scholar

a. International Mathematical Olympiad

ii.  The student must complete Class XII / Intermediate or its equivalent in the year 2010 or 2011.

• Five Year Dual-Degree Program of B.Tech in Computer Science and MS by Research in Exact Humanities

i. The student must have been selected for the Indian national team or have undergone a training camp or an orientation camp at the Homi Bhabha Centre for Science Education for any of the Olympiads mentioned below,or should be an NTSE or KVPY scholar

a. NTSE (Social Sciences)

ii. The student must complete Class XII / Intermediate or its equivalent in the year 2010 or 2011.

HOW TO APPLY:

Students have to apply through institute's portal:

1. Name of the student
2. Date of birth
3. Class XI and XII / Intermediate percentage and year of passing
4. Postal address
5. E-mail address

The application has to be sent to Admissions Incharge (DA), International Institute of Information Technology, Gachibowli, Hyderabad – 500 032, along with copies of the following certificates.

• Attested copy of Class X and XII certificates (in case a certificate is not available, send copy of marks sheet)
• Attested copy of the applicable KVPY/NTSE/Olympiad Awards/Topper of 10+2 certificate
• Two recommendation letters from teachers or academicians
• A copy of the report of any research project carried out as part of the Special Award

Last date for receipt of application with all enclosures is 22 June 2011

APPLICATION FEE

• A demand draft of Rs. 1200/- drawn in favor of “International Institute of Information Technology, Hyderabad”, payable at Hyderabad has to be sent along with the application.

SELECTION PROCESS

• The selection will be through a written exam and (or) an interview at IIIT, Hyderabad on 15/16 July 2011

Syllubus for written examination :

• Physics and Chemistry at 12th standard level and of Maths (or) Biology at 10th standard level.

• Before accessing the portal,  following information should be kept ready.
• First name, Last name of the student.
• Date of Birth
• Father name/Gardian name
• AIEEE Roll Number
• Full valid Postal Address
• Valid Email ID
• Valid Mobile number

Write a brief autobiography. The biography should cover the following :

a) Why do you want to join this program ?
b) What have been your childhood dreams ?
c) How do you think this program can take you towards fulfilling them ?
d) Mention one person who inspired you most and how ?

You must write the answers for the above questions in a ".txt" or ".doc" or ".pdf" format file and upload in the application portal.

If you are opting to fill Demand Draft (DD) form, following information should be kept ready ( Demand Draft should be taken in favour of "IIIT, Hyderabad"  Payable at Hyderabad  of Rs 1200 ).
