Let me explain now ! See in SO2 there is one lone pair on S so u cannot excite the electron present in completely filled s- orbit in Sulphur So d-orbital contains only one excited electron excited from p orbit and so 1 p pi - d pi bond is there and 1 p pi - p pi Only 2 p pi - p pi bonds exists ! But in SO3 there is no lone pair present on S so u can excite that electron in the filleds orbit into d-orbit as well making electron count in d-orbit to 2 ! So there are now 2 p pi - d pi And 1 p pi - p pi Bond ! better draw orbits urself first ! It will help u visualize it !

YEAH sorry my mistake one bond is p pie p pie btw S AND O and other is d pie p pie. the better way to learn which is p pie d pie is caluclate the hybridisation of the central atom after it you can predict about the kind of pie bond

hey guyz i have recently given AITS of aaksh institute and is getting around 180 marks out of 490 marks. but the level of chemsitry was too tough to handle even physics was out of the world this year jee question was a cake walk that graph between F-T with mass given. but here the kinematics questions were big long tricky maths was a bit easy i am getting 180 marks though i have shown it to my own coaching institute teachers as well and they say that the questions are very tricky and lengthy and neone who scores around 140-150 marks in this exam will crack jee but i am upset just 180 marks in this situation i will not even qualify jee as cutoff this year is 190 marks. guyz plz tell me that i have given 2 aits apaprt from my institute fiitjee and aakash in both got around 180 and my teacher says that even 140 is enough in this level to crack jee is it possible that coaching institute paper is much much difficult than the real jee paper and if yes then why they make such papers it so demotivating
