CUSAT CAT 2017 Eligibility CriteriaCUSAT CAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria: Aspirants seeking admission into various undergraduate programmes offered by the Participating Institutes and colleges have to apply for CUSAT CAT 2017. But, before filling up the application form, candidates must ensure that they fulfill all the Eligibility Criteria of CUSAT CAT 2017. Only eligible candidates will be able to take admission through the common entrance test. Therefore, every candidate must have knowledge about the set of conditions defined by the University. CUSAT CAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria

Before applying for CUSAT CAT 2017, candidates must go through the requirements of age, academic qualification etc. necessary for being eligible for the common admission test. If later, any student is found to be ineligible, he/ she will be disqualified from the admission process. The application fee will not be refunded either. Therefore, before filling up CUSAT CAT 2017 Application Form, candidates must check CUSAT CAT 2017 Eligibility Criteria given below:

Age Limit

For B.Tech in Marine Engineering

Candidate’s age must not be beyond 25 years as on 1st September 2017.

Academic Qualification

The qualification required differs among various B.Tech courses. Details are given below:

For Regular B.Tech Courses

  • Candidates must qualify Class XII examination of the state of Kerala or any other examination accepted as equivalent in Mathematics, physics and Chemistry as optional subjects.
  • A minimum aggregate of 50% must be secured in the above mentioned subjects taken together and in Mathematics separately.

For B.Tech Instrumentation Technology

  • Candidates must qualify class 12 examination of any state/ national board with Mathematics, physics and Chemistry or any other examination accepted as equivalent by the Cochin University of Science and Technology.
  • Candidates must secure a minimum of 60% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together with at least 55% marks in Mathematics separately.
  • For SEBC (belonging to the state of Kerala), the minimum aggregate marks required is 55% in Mathematics, physics and Chemistry put together with at least 50% marks in Mathematics.

For B.Tech Naval Architecture & Ship Building

  • Candidates have to qualify class XII examination conducted in Kerala or the examination of any of the University/ Board accepted by the Syndicate of the University as equivalent thereto in First class (at least 60% marks).
  • Candidates must have had Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry as subjects of study in the qualification examination.
  • A minimum aggregate of 50% must have been secured by the candidates in the above mentioned subjects put together and also in Mathematics separately.

For B.Tech Polymer Science and Engineering

  • Candidate must pass their higher secondary examination of the state of Kerala with Mathematics, physics and Chemistry as optional subjects or any other examination accepted as equivalent.
  • Students have to secure a minimum aggregate of 50% marks in Mathematics and 50% marks in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry put together.

For B.Tech Marine Engineering

  • Candidates have to qualify 10+2 examination of the state of Kerala or any other equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry and English as separate subjects.
  • In PCM, candidates must secure an average of not less than 60% marks and minimum 50% marks in Mathematics alone.
  • Candidates must also pass English in class X or XII with 50% marks, irrespective of categories.
