Q1. What is the age limit for admission to B.Tech?

Ans. There is no lower age limit but there is an upper age limit of 21 years as in the year of examination.

Q2. How many seats are there in engineering?

Ans. There are a total of 450 seats available in Pondicherry Engineering College and 180 seats in Perunthalaivar Kamarajar Institute of Engineeringg & Technology.

Q3. What is the reservation criteria for B.Tech?

Ans. 85% seats in both the engineering colleges are reserved for Pondicherry candidates while the rest 15% of the seats are open to all India candidates on the basis of AIEEE score

Q4. How can application forms be obtained?

Ans. The application forms for residents of Pondicherry can be obtained from post offices in Pondicherry, while candidates from other states can obtain the forms through post.

Q5. What is the cost of the application form from post office?

Ans. The cost of the form for general category is Rs.530/- (Rs.280/- for SC/ST candidates).

Q6. How can application forms be obtained by post?

Ans. Application forms can also be obtained by post by sending a request to ‘The Convenor’ CENTAC, Pondicherry Engineering College Campus, Puducherry- 605 014, along with two self-addressed slips (neatly typed or hand written) and a crossed demand draft

Q7. In whose favour is the DD to be drawn?

Ans. A crossed demand draft is to be drawn in favour of The Convenor, CENTAC, payable at Puducherry.

Q8. What is the cost of the application form if obtained by post?

Ans. The cost of the application form obtained by post is Rs.565/- [for SC / ST Candidates Rs.315/-].

Q9. What is the eligibility criteria for CENTAC?

Ans. Candidates seeking admission to the B. Tech. degree course should have passed the HSC (Academic) examination conducted by the Board of Higher Secondary Examination of Tamil Nadu or any other equivalent examination thereto, with a minimum of 45% marks (a mere pass for OBC/ MBC/ SC / ST candidates) in aggregate, in the prescribed subjects, namely - Mathematics, Physics and any one of the following optional subjects: Chemistry/Bio-Technology/ Computer Science/ Biology (Botany & Zoology)
