Candidates will have to lock the choices within the prescribed duration. Else, the automatic locking of the choices will be done and as per it seat will be allocated. Hence, it is advised that candidates wisely submit the order of preferences.
Seat Allotment: Seat Allotment is that process of counselling in which the allocated seat in a particular college and course is revealed. The preference of the student, category, and merit will be a crucial factor while allocating seat.
For the allotment, the following process will be implemented:
- Merit list will be prepared on the basis of GATE score.
- GATE 2016 candidates will be given preference over GATE 2017 qualifiers.
- For the qualifiers of the same year, the candidate with higher marks out of 100 will be assigned better merit.
- To break the tie, if any, Random Tie Breaking Rank Generation method will be used.
After the seat allotment, the candidates will have three options:
Freezing: Choosing freezing option implies that the candidate is satisfied with the allotment and is willing to confirm the allocated seat.
Floating: Opting for the floating option means that in the further rounds of CCMT, a candidate is ready to consider choices in all the institutes.
Sliding: Choosing for sliding option is a clear indication that the candidate wishes to consider his/her choices only within the allocated institute, in the further rounds of counselling.
Note: Candidates opting for Sliding or Floating will have to give up the allotment.
Seat Acceptance and Personal Reporting: Candidates who will opt for the freezing option will have to pay the acceptance fee and report at any of CCMT 2017 Reporting Center (RC).
The amount of fee can again be paid via SBI MOPS and the reporting has to be done in person only. At the center, original documents with the photo copy are to be put forth. On a satisfactory scrutiny, the Document Verification Certificate will be issued.
Note: The demand to exercise sliding and floating option is also to be expressed during reporting at the center.

The amount has to be paid through SBI MOPS. However, the balance admission fee of the institute is to be paid at the time of admission.
On the successful payment, Provisional Seat Confirmation Letter will be issued through the CCMT 2017 candidate’s login.
Reporting at the Institute: In the end, the candidates need to download the Provisional CCMT 2017 Seat Confirmation Letter. Take the letter, along the original documents, to the institute, and fulfill any of the remaining formalities of the admission.
