BITSAT 2017 Exam Analysis and Students Reaction – BITS Admission Test (BITSAT) 2017 is being conducted in the online mode from May 16 to 30. BITSAT examination is being held in two slots, the first slot starts from 09:00 am to 12:00 noon, whereas, the second slot, is from 02:00 pm to 05:00 pm. Both the slots for Day 1 of BITSAT 2017 has concluded. Inside the examination hall, candidates were asked to give impression of their left thumb along with their passport sized photograph. As per the candidates who appeared in BITSAT 2017, held on May 16, the overall paper was easy. English was the easiest section whereas Physics emerged to be the toughest of all. Through BITSAT 2017, candidates will be granted admission to around 2,000 undergraduate engineering seats into 8 B.Tech programmes offered in BITS campuses situated at Pilani, Goa and Hyderabad.
As per the marking scheme of BITSAT 2017, for each correct answer candidates are awarded 3 marks and 1 mark to be deducted for every incorrect response. The marks of the candidates will be calculated as per the number of correct and incorrect response out of total marks 450.

BITSAT 2017 Overall Analysis- Based on Student Inputs
For the majority of students who appeared in BITSAT 2017, the paper was easy. Topics from class XII syllabus was given more weightage. Physics section had more questions from Class XII with maximum number of questions from Modern Physics, Electricity and Magnetism etc. Mathematics section witnessed majority of questions from Trigonometry, Limits and Continuity. Chemistry section was conceptual with maximum number of questions from Electro Chemistry and Organic Chemistry.
Vrusha, a candidate who appeared in the exam for the second time said “The exam pattern was similar to the previous year. Of all the sections, Physics was the toughest, Chemistry was moderate. English was the easiest.” Her BITSAT score was 208. Neha, another candidate who scored 259 shares the same review about the paper.
Pramod, another test taker, shared his view about the exam and said that students who have attended coaching classes would have found the paper to be easy in comparison to those who studied from NCERT books. He found Physics and Chemistry to be very easy. His BITSAT 2017 score is 302
According to Shehzad, the paper was easy. He said “ Physics had more questions from class XI. Maximum number of question in the Mathematics section was from class XII whereas Chemistry was divided equally from both class XI and XII syllabus. It was my first attempt.”
Virat who appeared for BITSAT 2017 for the first time also felt the paper was easy. He said “In Mathematics, I was expecting more questions from Coordinate but it had only 3 to 4 questions. From Complex, there were 6 to 7 questions. Chemistry was theoretical. Physics was moderate and it was similar to JEE Main level. I also attempted the set of 12 questions and I found it to be difficult.”
Overall, the first day of BITSAT 2017 exam was conducted smoothly without any glitches. Candidates didn’t find any difficulty while solving the questions. Candidates who are gearing up to appear for BITSAT in the upcoming slots are advised to have clarity on all the topics and must have covered the syllabus in depth. Also, as there is negative marking, candidates must attempt only those questions which they are confident about.
BITSAT 2017 exam consist questions from Physics, Chemistry, Mathematics and English (English Proficiency and Logical Reasoning ). Candidates were given 3 hours to complete the test. After the completion of online test, the computer displays the number of correct and incorrect answers and total scores obtained by the candidates. Candidates can also download their BITSAT result 2017 at the exam centre after the exam gets over. Candidates can get their score online through their BITSAT application number and password.
The admit list will be published on July 1, 2017. BITSAT admit list will consist the names of candidates shortlisted for the counselling round. The registration for admission will start from May 20 to June 30, 2017.
