The criteria for eligibility for EAMCET 2016 for MBBS/BDS requires that the candidate be of 17 years of age as on 31st December “of the year of admission”. I don’t really understand what “the year of admission” implies. Could anyone please tell me?

The way I interpret it, I probably won’t be eligible.

Will I still be able to appear for the exam? Is age an important criteria that must be met at all costs? I remember reading somewhere that if the criteria is not met, the candidate can be disqualified. It had me wondering whether my application form will be discarded or will I be disqualified “after” writing the exam. There is probably a lot of ambiguity regarding the age criteria and I am confused.

If anything, I want to know whether I can successfully clear the EAMCET 2016 regardless of my age or must I wait until I come to meet the criteria?
