All the common entrance examination in the state of Andhra Pradesh will be held in the online mode from the academic session 2017-18. This announcement was made by the HRD Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Ganta Srinivasa Rao on January 05, 2017 at a conference held at Andhra University Senate Hall.
As per reports, the decision of changing the mode of the common entrance test from offline to online was taken as the total number of students taking admission in the state through the CET has witnessed a major drop in the past years. In many Institutes, the total number of admission has been nil. A committee is also being set up to have a discussion regarding the possibility of an alternative for AP EAMCET in the upcoming years.
This decision of conducting the CET in the CBT mode will finally be implemented after holding three high- level meetings in the months of July, September and October. The Vice Chancellor of each University will be appointed as the Chairman of the Common Entrance Test. A mock test will also be held for the candidates prior to the examination to make them familiar with the online mode of examination.
The HRD Minister also said that AP EAMCET 2017 might get linked with the national entrance test and they will also constitute a committee to look after this issue. He further added “Despite the best efforts of the State Government, last year online mode of common entrance test could not be implemented due to little time at our disposal. However, this year, we have changed the mode”.
