I am a Sc category. I applied online for admission in 5yrs BS-MS course. I also download a bank-in-slip and deposited Rs.250 for application fees for direct admissions(SC/S T) I submitted journal no M72934 given by Axis bank to day at Orissa,in bank-in-slip but not submitted the data in online. the computers shows this is not a correct journal no. But bank is showing this is a correct journal no in favour. So what can I do? pls tell me.

An engineering degree is not going fetch a good job in days to come unless it is from IIT or BITS pilani. The Interdisciplina ry courses will fetch better and secured jobs. IT sector’s growth has reduced and will remain same for quite some time hence salaries will remain low for the techno coolies. China produces better quality engineers than India. China has more than 70 technical universities which are better than the IIT’s in India.
IISER’s do have good future and placements will be great for those who pass with reasonably good grades. The students who are having difficulty in passing will definately face difficulty in placements and so is the case in every institute includind the IIT’s. The first 5 or 6 batches will be placed well as the immediate requirement is immence. The courses at the IISER’s are very well planned and in line with the best American Universities. Students you all should take advantage of these IISERs. Don’t just go by what a few students say. Students who can’t cope will always grumble and need “bahanas” to back their inabilities.
There are plenty of student even at the IIT’s who grumble and leave IIT when the can’t cope with it, and some even go further ahead and kill themselves.
This time Indian Gov. is not cheating the students at all. For the first time in 60 years- Indian Gov is spending such a huge amount on higher education. IISER’s are gaining enough global presence now a days. The kanjoos Indian Gov. is definately spending so much for something big. Indian Gov should actually abolish the quota seats (SC/ST/OBC) for its premier institutes (IIT/IISC/IISER /IIST/IIM/AIIMS )in India at least, to maintain certain level of intellectual standards. Merit should be the only criteria. The not so meritorious students suffer a lot in coping up and always feel misled and misplaced in life, which is actually true to an extent. Faulty Gov. policies are responsible. Gov. should instead provide more fund for the economically backward meritorious students. This would change India for a better tomorrow.
When the IIT’s were newly set, many people then too had plenty of negative thoughts about its future. Many student then preferred (or rather adviced by others) to join the already existing regional colleges fearing they wont get jobs if they joined the IIT’s. You know what IIT's are today. Same is the case with IISER's. IISer's may see even greater heights than the IIT's.
We, students of IISER Kolkata are here to inform you guys that IISER ain’t the right place to pursue degree.These institutes are nothing but great piece of shit on the face of Indian Education.Actua lly u guys must be curious about the placement scenario of IISER so, let us first assure you that there is no such kind of thing here.IISER’s don’t have any placement cell & won’t be so in the near future.The system of IISER is completely corrupt, every faculty of IISER is trying to grab as much money possible from government funding.We are already stucked here as we don’t have any other option now but we really don’t want no more fools here like us.This is our suggestion to use your IIT-JEE Merit rank or EML rank to get admission to IIST Trivandrum or Merchant navy institutes like T.S. Chanakya, MERI Kolkata, MERI Mumbai. IISER officials will first assure about giving you placements but please don’t rely on those as they are all fake and also there is no connection between IISER’s and IIT’s. After getting M.S. from IISER, u guys won’t be able to get any kind of job even if u apply offline.We are requesting you guys to do simply Engineering wherever u r getting admission, even a worst Pvt. Engineering college of India would be better than IISER.Anyone who is really interested in doing research should get admission to any well known university like Delhi University since the course curriculum of IISER is the worst ever syllabus than any university can ever have.IISER’s will be teaching you all the basic science subjects for the first two years as common to all students and from 3rd year onwards students will be asked to choose majors of their respective interest, but actually you will be wasting your 2 yrs while studying the bullshit course of IISER and from 3rd yr onwards u hav to study all ur major subjects which people used to study in 5 year of their normal Integrated M.Sc. course so, in summary u have to complete all ur major subjects in 3 years which students of Jadavpur university complete in 5 years with in-depth knowledge.All the faculty of IISER’s is regionally divided according to their location like most of Professor’s at IISER Kolkata are bengali’s.
The reason of writing this is to convey the message to all the Directors of IISER’s to stop fooling students for their sake of interest which is nothing but money.
