Symbiosis SET 2011 Admission Notification

Eligibility Criteria for SIT

• General Category - Passed HSC (10+2) or equivalent examination from any Statutory Board with 60% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM).
• SC/ST - Passed H.SC (10+2) or equivalent examination from any Statutory Board with 55% aggregate marks in PCM.
• Students who have good scores in various entrance examinations like SET (Symbiosis Entrance Test) or AIEEE or JEE or MHCET will be considered for admission.
  Note: - Valid scores for above mentioned entrance test of year 2010 will be considered for admission process.

Policy of admission against vacant seats under reserved category
In case some seats remain vacant due to the non-availability of suitable candidates in the categories of reservations then information about the number of vacant seats in each categroy will be reported to the Symbiosis International University and with the permission of the Vice-Chancellor , the seats will be converted to the general category seats and students on merit list will be offered these seats.

Reservations Criteria

The following are the reservation rules that shall be followed while admitting Indian students: With-in the intake :

• Scheduled Caste 15%
• Schedule Tribe: 7.5%
• Differently abled students 3%
• Management Quota 15% over and above sanctioned intake
• Kashmiri migrants 2 seats over ad above the sanctioned intake
• International students (NRI / Foreign / PIO) 15%.

Application Process for SIT

1. Through SET 2011
Candidates’ applying to Symbiosis Institute of Technology through SET examination is required to register on www.set-test.org and after registration to the SET, student will do institutional registration through SET website to get admitted to SIT.

2. Through Other Entrance examination
Candidates applying to Symbiosis Institute of Technology through other entrance examination such as JEE 2011, AIEEE 2011 or MHCET 2011 are required to register directly on Institutional website www.sit.siu.edu.into get admitted to SIT.
