AIEEE 2011 FAQ's

Where should I post the application form for AIEEE 2011?
The Application Form duly filled in should be sent to “THE ASSISTANT SECRETARY(AIEEE), CENTRAL BOARD OF SECONDARY EDUCATION, PS 1-2 INSTITUTIONAL AREA, IP EXTENSION, PATPARGANJ, DELHI-110092” in the printed envelope supplied by the Board positively by 20.01.2011. The Application Form will not be received personally in any case. The candidate must retain photocopy of his/her filled in Application Form for future correspondence, if required.

I appeared for 12th class in 2009. Am I eligible for AIEEE 2011?
The candidates passed +2 exam in 2009, 2010 or appearing in +2 in 2011 are only eligible to appear in AIEEE-2011. Candidates passed +2 in 2008 or before or appearing in 2011 are not eligible to appear in AIEEE-2011

My actual DOB is 5th July 1985. But my university certificate has 5th October 1985 as the recorded date. Can I sit for AIEEE 2011?
Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/University certificate only will be taken as authentic. Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1985 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1980 are eligible.

Is there negative marking for AIEEE 2011?
For each incorrect response, one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted.

Can the options once submitted in the application form be changed on a later stage i.e. after submission of the form?
Options once selected in the application form cannot be changed at a later stage. Request for change/correction in any particulars in the Application Form shall not be entertained under any circumstances. The Board will not be responsible for any consequences arising out of non-acceptance of any correction/addition/deletion in any particular once filled in the application form whatsoever the reasons may be.

What is State Code Eligibility Criteria in AIEEE ?

State Code of eligibility means the Code of the State from where a candidate has passed +2 examination by virtue of which he / she becomes eligible to appear in the AIEEE for admission to B.E / B.Tech and B.Arch / B. Planning Courses of the institutions / Colleges of the States / UT.

Due to creation of new States of Chattisgarh, Jharkhand and Uttarakhand, certain places / institutions of Madhya Pradesh, Bihar and Uttar Pradesh from where the candidates have passed their +2 examination have now come within the jurisdiction of the newly created states.

The candidates are, therefore, requested to fill in the State Code of eligibility as per the present jurisdiction of the respective States.

What if I forgot to mention a point in my application form. Can I contact AIEEE office to refill?
Your application must be complete in all respects. Incomplete application forms will be summarily rejected

When will I receive my admit card for the examination?
The Admit Card will be sent by post “Under Certificate of Posting (UPC)” to the candidate (including those who made application online) about four weeks before the conduct of AIEEE examination.

I have received my AIEEE admit card. But few details mentioned here are not correct. What should I do?
In case of any discrepancy, the candidate should inform the issuing institute immediately.

Who is a Notary Public?
A notary public (sometimes called a notary or a public notary) is an individual authorized by state or local government to officially witness signatures on legal documents, collect sworn statements and administer oaths.

Who is a gazette officer?
The Indian government officials are classified into Class A, B, C and D. The Class C and D consist of Upperdivision and lowerdivison clerks grade. Class A and B (contains few gazette officers) belong to the managerial class of the government services and belong to the policy formulation, policy implementation, personnel management and the like. Such officers, among other functions have also in their jurisdiction, the power to attest the documents for academic and other purposes.

I have not received my Admit Card yet. What should I do?
If the admit card is not received by 6 April, 2010, you should directly write to the board. All such requests should be sent to Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2 Institutional Area, IP Extension, Patparganj, Delhi-110 092 with two photographs (as pasted on the Application Form), one should be attested by Principal of the institution where candidate is studying/passed XII or by the gazetted officer. Photocopy of the Application Form, proof regarding remittance of fee (photocopy of the Demand Draft) in respect of those candidates who have made application online, and the original postal receipt issued by the Post Office for having dispatched the Application Form by Registered/Speed Post in order to get a duplicate Admit Card. Such request for issue of duplicate Admit Card should accompany with a Demand Draft in favour of Secretary, CBSE payable at Delhi /New Delhi amounting Rs. 50/- as fee and additional Rs. 30/- as postal charges for outstation candidates.

What if I lost my admit card after the examination is over and results are out. Can I get a duplicate admit card for counseling procedure?
No, request for issue of admit card after the examination will not be entertained.

When is the result for AIEEE 2011 expected?
The result of AIEEE 2011 will be out on or before 7th June, 2011.

Can I use a HB pencil instead of a pen?
Use of pencil is strictly prohibited. If any candidate uses pencil for darkening the answer sheet, his/her answer sheet will be rejected. Use Blue or Black Ball Point Pen only to fill the form and the answer sheet.

I have got a centre which is very far from my home. Can I raise a request for change of centre?
Under no circumstances, the Centre once allotted shall be changed by the Board.

Which all states will use AIEEE-2011 ranks to fill seats through their own counseling?
The States/Institutes listed below are likely to use AIEEE-2011 ranks to fill seats through their own counselling.
1. Haryana
2. Uttarakhand
3. Himachal Pradesh (All India Quota will be filled through Central Counselling Board)
4. Army Institute of Technology, Pune, Maharashtra
5. Delhi Technological University, Bawana Road, Delhi.
6. 15% All India Quota in N.S.I.T., Delhi under Delhi University will be filled through Central Counselling Board.

When will the final list of institutions admitting students through AIEEE 2011 results be out?
Final list of institutions admitting students (with intake in each discipline and category as per reservation) through AIEEE-2011 including counselling procedure, counselling schedule and counselling centres would be displayed on the CCB

I have sended my AIEEE 2011 application form through courier post intead of speed post . Will be my application form selected or rejected ?

No, Application form will not be accepted & your application form will be sent back to you to your given Postal/Permanent adress and application from should be send through Speed Post / Registered only.

A.	Form will not be cancelled.

Q4.	Form not attested by Gazetted officer/Principal of Institution.
A.	We shall accept duly attested either by Gazetted officer/Principal.

Q5.	Candidate has used Gel Pen/led pencil instead of Ball Pen.
A.	It is mandatory to fill form by Ball pen.

Q6.	For Column No. 8, filled by male candidate or darken/mark the option.
A.	Form will not be cancelled.

Q7.	For Column No. 17, “course” wrongly filled by candidate.
A.	Correct course must be intimated by the Candidate to the Board, otherwise candidate will be allowed to appear in filled up course only.

Q8.	Applicant passed XIIth in 2006 but appeared for improvement in 2007 will be eligible or not.
A.	Candidate passed in 2006 but appeared for improvement in 2007 onwards, form be rejected as they are not eligibility to appear in AIEEE 2009.

Q9.	While submitting on-line application display occurs; the payment not submitted, server down, confirmation page not received, forget their registration no.
A.	Provision has been made to retrieve the Regn. No.

Q10.	Candidate studying / appearing from other state & seeks 1^st center choice in different state.
A.	Center will be fixed within four choices by the candidate as far as possible.

Q11.	While filling on-line application alphanumeric roll no; not accepted.
A.	Provision has been made to accept alphanumeric Roll. No.

Q12.	Candidate filled Father name in place of mother name.
A.	Particulars of the candidates will be displayed on AIEEE website at the earliest possible for verification by the candidate. Candidate may check their status on CBSE website and send corrections on proforma generated on website.

Q13.	Whether filling of all 4 choices for center are compulsory?
A.	Yes, every effort will be made to allot the Center within choices as for as possible.

Q14.	While filling state code, which state is applicable ? Where they are studying or by which they are belongs?
A.	State code of eligibility is that from where the candidate passed/appearing in class XII. However, in case of candidate studying in foreign country, their state code of eligibility will be their birth state in India, subject to production of domicile certificate from the competent authority before Central Counseling board.

Q15.	Wrongly filled Sex status or any other option, then ask, what action to be done?
A.	Candidate may check their status on CBSE website and correct accordingly as mentioned in column 12 above.

Q16.	Column of thumb impression left blank.
A.	It is mandatory.
