AIEEE/AFMC Entrance Examination Time Re-Shedule-Relief for Aspirants
AIEEE and AFMC MBBS exams being scheduled on the same date, May 1, across the country, have now given respite to those students appearing for both by rescheduling the time slots. Now both the exams will be conducted at separate timings on May 1,2011.
While the All-India Engineering Entrance Examination is conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education, the AFMC entrance test is conducted by the Armed Forces Medical Services.
According to a CBSE statement, both have agreed that the AIEEE 2011 would be conducted on May 1 from 9.30 a.m. to 12.30 p.m. and AFMC 2011MBBS exam from 2.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m. If a candidate is allotted an examination centre for the AIEEE and the AFMC exam at different cities, the CBSE will consider changing the centre, the statement said. However, this would be at the sole discretion of the CBSE, the statement added.

The 10th All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination (offline/pen & paper), 2011 to be conducted by Central Board of Secondary Education has been rescheduled from 24.04.2011 to 01.05.2011 (Sunday) due to Easter festival. The sale of Information Bulletins from all selling centres will start from 22.12.2010 instead of 15.12.2010. Rest of the things/schedule will remain unchanged.

INSTRUCTIONS AND PROCEDURE FOR ON-LINE APPLICATION FOR AIEEE 2011
As per the orders of the Min. of Human Resource Development, Govt. of India, the online examination would be conducted for a maximum of 1.0 lac candidates in BE/B.Tech only and remaining candidates will appear in Pen & paper mode (off-line) as conducted earlier. The candidates wishing to appear in online examination will apply online only through the AIEEE website www.aieee.nic.in. and the fees is required to be paid by credit/ debit card only.
Online examination will be conducted for a maximum capacity of 5000 candidates in a city on first-come-first serve basis. The candidates may opt another city if the seats in a particular city are full. Though, the candidates have been asked to submit their choices of examination cities but the Board has right to change the center. The examination fee for the candidates who intend to appear in online examination is as under.
- General /OBC RS. 400 + 2% of the examination fee plus service tax as applicable.
- SC/ST RS. 200 + 2% of the examination fee plus service tax as applicable
Eligibility Criteria for AIEEE 2011 Examination
- The minimum academic qualification for appearing in AIEEE 2011 is that the candidate must have passed in final examination of 10+2 (Class XII) or its equivalent referred to as the qualifying examination (see Appendix IX) with 50% marks for general category candidates and 40% marks for SC/ST/OBC/PH category candidates. Those appearing in 10+2 (Class XII) final or equivalent examination may also appear in AIEEE 2011 provisionally.
- Subject combinations required in the qualifying examination for admission to B.E./B.Tech. and B. Arch./B. Planning Courses
shall be as under:

- The number of attempts which a candidate can avail at All India Engineering/Architecture Entrance Examination shall be limited to 03 (three) uniformly for all the candidates in consecutive years. The candidates passed +2 exam in 2009, 2010 or
appearing in +2 in 2011 are only eligible to appear in AIEEE-2011. Candidates passed +2 in 2008 or before or appearing in 2012 are not eligible to appear in AIEEE-2011. - Date of Birth
Only those candidates whose date of birth falls on or after October 01, 1986 are eligible. However, in the case of Scheduled Caste(SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) and Physically Handicapped (PH) candidates, upper age limit is relaxed by 5 years, i.e. SC, ST and PH candidates who were born on or after October 01, 1981 are eligible. Date of birth as recorded in the Secondary Education Board/ University certificate only will be taken as authentic.

Examination Pattern for AIEEE 2011 Examination
Entrance examination would consist of two papers i.e.
- 1st paper consisting of three parts of Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics of equal weightage with objective type questions for B.E/B.Tech courses and
- 2nd paper consisting of Mathematics, Aptitude Test and Drawing for B. Architecture and B. Planning.
- The Aptitude Test is designed to evaluate candidate’s perception, imagination, observation, creativity and architectural awareness.
- Scoring and Negative Marking
There will be objective type questions with four options having single correct answer. For each incorrect response, one fourth (1/4) of the total marks allotted to the question would be deducted. No deduction from the total score will, however, be made if no response is indicated for an item in the answer sheet. The candidates are advised not to attempt such item in the answer sheet if they are not sure of the correct response. More than one answer indicated against a question will be deemed as incorrect response and will be negatively marked. - Subject combination for each paper and type of questions in each paper are given in the table below:

- AIEEE 2011 pen and paper (offline examination) will be conducted on the following dates as per schedule given below:

- For those unable to appear in AIEEE on scheduled date of examination for any reason, including loss of application form/ admit card in transit, no re-examination shall be held under any circumstances. The schedule will remain unaltered even if the date is declared as a public holiday.
- Students may move to the venue of examination for refreshment etc. after examination of B.E./B.Tech. is over, if they have applied for BE/B.Tech. and B.Arch/B. Planning together.

Application Procedure for AIEEE 2011 Examination
- Application can either be made ‘Online’ or submitted on prescribed Application Form only.
- Application can be submitted Online during 23.11.2010 to 14.01 .2011 (5.00 PM).
- Information Bulletin containing Application Form can also be obtained by post from the Assistant Secretary (AIEEE), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2, Institutional Area, I P Extension, Patparganj, Delhi - 110092 or personally from Regional Offices of CBSE and Designated Branches of Syndicate Bank/other Banks/Designated Institutions.The Syndicate Bank/other Banks, the designated institutions and Regional Offices of the CBSE will not send the Information Bulletin by Post. Hence, no request should be made to them for sending the Bulletin by Post. Candidate should not buy the Information Bulletin from any private publisher/ vendor as these may be fake Information Bulletins.
- Payment of Fee could be made by Demand Draft or Credit Card.
Steps to be followed if fee paid through Demand Draft
- If you want to remit the fee by Demand Draft, get ready before filling application form
- Logon to the AIEEE website, fill the application form, note down the registration number which would be generated by system that is required for making the payment of fee.
- Fill the details of Demand Draft.
- Take a printout of Confirmation Page and complete as per the instruction given below.
Steps to be followed if fee paid through Credit Card
- Keep the details of Credit Card (VISA/MasterCard) ready.
- Logon to the AIEEE website, fill the application form, note down the registration number which would be generated by system that is required for making the payment of fee.
- Make the payment through Credit Card and note down the payment receipt number, after successful payment of fee.
- Take a printout of Confirmation Page and complete as per the instruction given below.
- Note : Bank will charge 2% service/processing charges and service tax as applicable on transaction made by Credit card.
- Paste your two recent photographs , sign in the specified box and send this confirmation page along with Demand Draft (In case of Examination Fee deposited through Demand Draft) by Registered/Speed Post (NOT BY COURIER) to " The Assistant Secretary (AIEEE Unit), Central Board of Secondary Education, PS 1-2, Institutional Area, IP Extension,Patparganj, Delhi 110 092" for further processing so as to reach latest by 20.01.2011 . Application received beyond this date will not be accepted.
- Photograph : Firmly affix two recent high contrast passport size preferably black & white photograph (taken on or after 1.9.2010) with gum/fevicol (not to be pinned or stapled) in the space provided for it in the Application Form one duly attested by the head of the institution where the candidate is studying/passed class XII or the Gazatted officer. The photograph must indicate clearly the name of the candidate along with the date of taking the photograph. It should be without cap or goggles. Spectacles are allowed. Polaroid photos are not acceptable. The photograph of the candidate should be attested by the Principal/Head of the Institution or Gazetted Officer in such a way that part of the signature is on the photograph and remaining part of the signature is on the application form. Attestation should be done on the bottom part of the photograph so that the photograph is not defaced. Candidates not complying with these instructions or with unclear photograph are liable to be rejected. Candidates may keep 6-8 identical photographs in reserve for use at the time of entrance examination/Counselling/Admission.

- to attach Demand Draft of required fee (In favour of “Secretary Central Board of Secondary Education,Delhi”, payable at Delhi).
- to mention his/her Registration No., Name, and Address on the back of the Demand Draft .
- to retain a photocopy of confirmation page for future reference.
- to retain a photocopy of the Demand Draft sent.
- to retain a photocopy of the transaction receipt if fee paid by Credit Card.
- to retain the original receipt issued by the post office for having dispatch the Application Form.
- the processing of applications will begin only after receiving confirmation page and fee (by Credit Card or by Demand Draft).
Candidates submitting applications online for Online Examination are required
- to retain a photocopy of confirmation page for future reference.
- to retain a photocopy of the transaction receipt.
- to retain the original receipt issued by the post office for having dispatch the Application Form.

In case the Admit Card is not received by 6th April, 2011 the candidates should write/contact the CBSE between 7 th April, 2011 to 20th April, 2011 giving details of the Post Office, date of dispatch, original receipt of postal dispatch, photostat copy of the Application Form, two photographs (as pasted on the Application Form one is duly attested), and proof regarding remittance of fee who have submitted application “Online’.
