Sastra University 2011 Counseling Status

II Round AIEEE counseling for Admission to B.Tech. / 5-Year Integrated M.Tech. Programmes

The second round counseling based on AIR (Overall) in AIEEE 2011 will be held on July 6, 2011 from 10:00 a.m. Following is the seat vacancy position:

General instructions for counseling

1. Only candidates who have applied online based on AIEEE 2011 ranks are considered eligible for the counseling.

2. No fresh application will be entertained.

3. No request for change in the counseling date or time will be entertained.

4. Candidate’s presence during the time of counseling is compulsory. If due to any unavoidable circumstances, the candidate is not able to attend; either the father or the mother or legal guardian with proper documents will have to attend the counseling.

5. The candidate will have to report 30 minutes before the start of the counseling session. Late comers will be allowed only during the next batch and can seek admission only for the branches available during that time. Any candidate who misses the entire day cannot appear for any of the subsequent counseling sessions.

6. The candidates are informed that they should have enough copies of the original mark sheets, transfer certificate, conduct certificate, migration certificate and other documents before they submit the original during the time of counseling. A copy of the AIEEE Rank Card needs to submitted during counseling.

7. If any candidate has secured admission in a different institution & is unable to produce original documents, he/she is expected to bring a copy of the admission letter, acknowledgement from the institution for receiving documents and fee receipt.

8. Please note that more number of candidates than the seats available are called for counseling. Mere call for counseling does not guarantee admission, which is based on availability during the time of your counseling.

9. Also, enough care is taken to verify your AIEEE ranks. However, candidates are advised to ascertain their AIR and eligibility status and the University is not responsible if the candidate is found ineligible during counseling.

10. Each student is expected to download and print the application form from www.sastra.edu and completely fill the form, as it needs to be submitted during the counseling session.

11. Eligibility: A pass in +2 in the first attempt, in Mathematics & Physics as compulsory subjects with either Chemistry/Biotechnology/Computer Science/Biology and recognized by any State/Central Board or any other board accepted by SASTRA as equivalent to 10+2 examination with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks in Maths, Physics & Chemistry/Biotech/CS/Biology.

12. The candidate should not have completed 19 years as on 1/7/2011.

13. In the event of being admitted to a particular branch, the candidate must pay the following fees in the form of Demand Draft, favouring SASTRA, payable at Thanjavur.

Fee Details:

1) Tuition fees                     Rs.40,000/- (per semester)

2) Development fees           Rs.10,000/- (one time payment at the time of admission)

3) Miscellaneous                Rs. 7,000/- (one time payment at the time of admission)

Total                                Rs. 57,000/-

A single Demand Draft favouring SASTRA payable at Thanjavur for Rs. 57,000/- may be taken.

For candidates requiring hostel facilities, the following is the applicable fee:

1) Hostel fees                     Rs. 6,000/- per year

2) Caution Deposit             Rs. 2,000/-

3) Admission fees               Rs.   100/-

Total                                 Rs. 8,100/-

A separate Demand Draft for Rs. 8,100/- must be taken. Hostel admission is subject to availability and preference would be given for outstation students. Students residing within a radius of 75 kms. from SASTRA will not be provided hostel accommodation.

14. On campus hostel facility for girl students is full. However, private hostels are available and the candidates will be suitably guided during the counseling.

15. Once the allotment of branch is made, it cannot be changed under any circumstances.

16. Classes commence on July 14, 2011.
